Zehra is an interdisciplinary maker and teacher from Utrecht, the Netherlands, working as a director across film and theatre. Her practice revolves around themes like memory, resistance, norms, and love. She is also DJ and radiomaker who hosts her own radioshow called ‘DE BIOS’ on Stranded FM, which is about film and film soundtracks. Drawing on her background in audiovisual anthropology, she seeks to learn more about inner and outer worlds through sound and image. Her visceral ways of audiovisual storytelling push her style towards the fictitious and performative.
